How much weather changes for Delhi after the withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon?

Rain activities in Delhi generally decrease after the withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon. Delhi averages 693 mm of rainfall over a period of one year. The month with the most rain for Delhi is August. In August, an average of 246 mm of rainfall is recorded. The second rainiest month for Delhi is July when rain is recorded around 205 mm. The last month of Southwest Monsoon is September when the national capital Delhi records 112 mm of rainfall on average.

After the withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon, 26 mm of rainfall is recorded for Delhi in the month of October. In November, the rainfall for Delhi is very less than average. The normal rainfall for Delhi in the month of November is just 3 mm. But for Delhi, there was heavy rain deficiency during the Monsoon season. Except August, Delhi has been deficient in rainfall for the remaining three months of the monsoon season.

The monsoon season in Delhi records an average of 605 mm of rainfall over a period of four months between June and September. But in the 2020 monsoon season, only 455 mm rainfall was recorded 37% below the average. The weather has remained dry since the withdrawal of the monsoon. From October 1 to November 6, the normal rainfall for Delhi is 12 mm but the rainfall recorded is 0 mm, i.e. there has been a decrease of 100%.

In the coming days also, there is no change in weather condition for Delhi and nearby places. No active seasonal system is seen developing in and around the national capital Delhi.

Meteorologists believe that due to the increasing influence of La Nina in the eastern and central Pacific Ocean at present time, the winter and the Northeast Monsoon of India are being affected. In such a situation, there is a high doubt whether Delhi will receive the average rainfall for the month of November or not. Although it is not raining, the temperature continues to fall for Delhi. This will continue even further, due to which it is feared that the people of Delhi may have to face the tremendous cold in the year 2020.
