As had been forecast by meteorologists, after recording its hottest day on Tuesday, Australia records an even hotter day today with its mean maximum temperatures 15°C above the normal. Australia braces to record even hotter day tomorrow on Thursday, which might break all its previous records. The forecast shows day temperatures soaring high till Friday.
A ‘code red’ alert has been already issued for the extreme southern parts of Australia until Friday.
Queensland, an interior town of Birdsville recorded its hottest temperature on records today at 47.7°C. Mandora in Western Australia recorded 46.9°C, whereas Wudinna Airport in South Australia recorded 47.3°C on Wednesday. Similarly, Australia’s largest city Sydney has surpassed its record warmest year earlier this month and is bracing for even hotter temperatures now.
In the last week itself, Perth has already recorded four days of extreme summers. Earlier, Sydney also recorded the warmest November.
At present, heat wave is affecting the entire continent leading to multiple huge bushfires. Hot winds are blowing over the region making the temperatures to peak. The places hasn’t seen any rains for the last some days and is running totally dry. Similar conditions are likely to prevail for the next few days.
