Hottest day recorded in Delhi as summer makes a grand entrance

The maximum temperature in Delhi continued its ascending spree for the fifth consecutive day on Tuesday recording 41°C. Last 24 hours were hottest in Delhi as morning temperature was also recorded at around 22.8°C on Wednesday. The continuous rise in day temperatures has already begun to dissuade people from stepping outdoors. The latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India indicates that such maximum temperature in Delhi will sustain for the next 48 hours under the influence of westerly winds from Rajasthan. An extended weather forecast for Delhi foresees chances of rain during the weekend. The temperature will be slightly higher than normal during the next two to three days but respite from hot and dry weather is foreseen from Saturday through Sunday and then on Monday. The weather in Delhi during the first three weeks of April had largely been pleasant but since Wednesday last week, temperatures have observed a rising trend. The northward shift of Western Disturbances in later part of April has turned on the heat in the national capital as winds coming from west and northwest are warmer, hence pushing up the temperatures.
