After getting a brief respite from the scorching heat, temperatures across Delhi NCR are set to increase once again. With hot and dry northwesterly winds blowing over the region, mercury is expected to soar above 43°C, today onwards. Even nights will be warmer with minimum temperatures settling between 28°C and 30°C.
A severe dust storm followed by thundershower on Tuesday evening had led to a drop in temperatures in the national capital. In the wake of this, the maximum temperature on Wednesday settled in low 40s, while minimum temperature recorded a significant drop and was recorded in low 20s.
According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, heat is again catching up with the state in the absence of any rain activity. However, we can still expect dust storm and thunderstorm activity accompanied by strong winds over Delhi on the coming weekend.
The activity is not expected to give any significant rain that would lead to a drop in day and night temperatures. But it will bring temporary relief from heat wave like conditions.
These weather activities are being triggered by a cyclonic circulation over North Rajasthan and a trough from that extending across Haryana, Punjab, Delhi-NCR and west Uttar Pradesh.
Let us have a look at maximum and minimum temperatures across the Delhi-NCR region on May 21.
