Hot weather conditions are all set to make a comeback over Delhi-NCR after recording some good pre-Monsoon rains and thunderstorm during the midnight hours of Wednesday.

According to Skymet Weather, scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers were witnessed over many places of the capital city along with the squally winds of 50 kmph to 60 kmph.

In wake of the cloudy weather, both day and night temperatures have been settling near normal since last two days.

As we progress further, mercury is all set to soar Wednesday onwards. However, isolated thundershowers and thunderstorm activity cannot be ruled out during next 24 hours as well.

The rain activity was on account of a trough extending from North Rajasthan up to Jharkhand, running very close to Delhi. Besides this, humid winds from Arabian Sea and passage of active Western Disturbance through Western Himalayas were also affecting weather over Delhi.

Now, the trough has shifted southwards but moisture levels in the air will still keep the weather conditions favourable for isolated weather activity on Wednesday. With this, winds will change direction to hot and dry northwesterlies or westerlies that will increase the temperatures and bring down the humidity level.

Skymet Weather forecasts another spell of pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers approaching Delhi around May 16 or May 17.
