Hot weather streak to continue over Telangana, Andhra Pradesh

February 23, 2017 4:53 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Most states of South India have remained dry since the beginning of February. The South Indian states have not managed to witness any spell of rains the entire February month.

Telangana and South Andhra Pradesh are also reeling under dry and warm weather conditions since a long time. Many places at both these states are observing temperatures settling three to five degrees above normal.

The reason for extremely dry and warm weather across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana can be attributed to the warm winds blowing from Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. These winds were blowing from last many days giving dry and sultry weather over the region.

As per Skymet Weather, due to the absence of any significant weather system, the dry and warm weather is expected to continue in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Hence, there is no possibility of relief from the warm weather in both the states. In fact, most regions of these states may end up witnessing maximums settling between 37-39°C. The minimums may also settle in mid-20. Clear sky and bright sunshine are expected to show up in both the states until March 2.

Thereafter, there are chances of light rains over South Andhra Pradesh. Telangana will, however, remain dry.
