According to Skymet Weather, at present, winds are blowing from westerly or northwesterly direction that have been keeping temperatures under check.

However, weathermen are now expecting change in the wind direction and may start blowing from north -northeasterly direction. These winds will be travelling via Rajasthan and parts of Gujarat where temperatures are already settling above 40-degree mark.

With these hot winds reaching Mumbai too, we expect temperatures of Mumbai and adjoining areas to witness a sudden increase. These hot weather conditions along high humidity levels would wreak havoc over Mumbai till April 18. Heatwave will once again make a comeback over the state capital.

During this time, day temperatures may reach around 38C-39C, which may remind Mumbaikars of the severe heatwave last month.

Relief will come around April 19 as winds will again change its course, leading to drop in temperatures by 2-3 degrees. However, mercury will continue to settle above normal average.
