Bangalore had lost its title of “the pleasant city” this summer. Temperatures touched an all new high in the month of April. Hot and sultry weather wreaked havoc over the residents who were oblivious to such weather conditions.
An almost dry April gave way to rainy days as we entered the month of May. The first 10 days of the month witnessed continuous rains. Moreover, weather in the city had turned pleasant with the advent of Cyclone Roanu. Commencing on May 18, the city recorded a whopping 64 mm rain in a span of 48 hours. In fact, the maximum temperature had come down below the 30-degree mark.
However, the city has been relatively dry for the past few days. However, temperatures have not climbed significantly and the day maximum is currently settling at 33.2 degree Celsius. As of now, we are awaiting the arrival of Monsoon in the mainland of India. Skymet weather expects Monsoon to enter Kerala between May 28 and 30. The onset phase sees good spell of rainfall inKeralaalong with Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Thus, we can expect good rains inBangalorein the coming days. According to Skymet Weather, Southwest Monsoon will enter Bangalore by June 1 this year.
With the arrival of Monsoon, a persistent cloud cover keeps the weather cool and comfortable in the early morning hours. These Monsoon clouds get dispersed by the forenoon hours but maximums do not rise above 33-34 degree Celsius. Pre-Monsoon thunderstorm activities get replaced by characteristically Monsoon rains.
During the four-month long Monsoon season, rains keep increasing as we move from June to September and October. On a concluding note, we can say that maximums will now clock around the 30-degree mark while the minimums will hover around 20 degree Celsius. Hot days are now over and only pleasant days are in sight for Bangalore.
