Hot and humid weather is all set to make a comeback over Delhi as Monsoon rains take a back seat. According to Skymet Weather, intensity of rains have also reduced significantly and weather will now gradually go dry over the national capital.
After recording heavy showers on Wednesday, the Palam Observatory in Delhi recorded 19 mm of rain during the span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, while Safdarjung Observatory received 6 mm of rain only.
As per weathermen, the weather systems that have been responsible for the rainy spell over city have either shifted or have weakened. The cyclonic circulation over Haryana and adjoining areas have become less marked, while the Monsoon trough has also shifted north towards the foothills of Himalayas.
In wake of this, dry weather conditions will prevail over the city but one or two spells of passing showers cannot be ruled out.
Also in absence of any rains, both the maximum and minimum temperatures that were settling well below normal, will also start increasing. Not only this, high levels of humidity will further add to the discomfort of the people.
On Thursday, the day maximum for Delhi had settled at 31°C, which was three degrees below normal.
