After some surprising rains on May 12, Mumbai and Pune are now once again battling hot and humid weather conditions. On Tuesday, day maximum in Mumbai settled at 33.7°C, while Pune recorded 37.1°C.

It not just the mercury but the increased levels of humidity that have been causing the real discomfort. According to Skymet Weather, mercury has been rising in absence of any significant weather system.

Though weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy but rains are not expected over both the cities during the next two days. However, some pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers are likely to make appearance over Mumbai and Pune May 20 onwards.

Weathermen predict that a trough is likely to develop across the West Coast. With this, humid winds from Arabian Sea will start blowing over the region making weather conditions conducive for some weather activities. Although, intensity of rains will be confined to light only and duration of the rainy spells will be short too. This will usher in much needed relief from the prevailing hot and humid weather conditions.
