Hot and dry weather to prevail over Delhi NCR, maximums to cross over 40 degrees

In this pre-monsoon season, Delhi has received 324% surplus rain until April 7. Delhi has received 70.3 mm of rain against the normal of 16.6 mm.

During the last 24 hours, many parts of Delhi and NCR have received light rain and thundershower with strong winds.

We are in the second month of Pre-monsoon season. The month of April is very hot for Delhi and NCR as well as for Northwest India. The temperature of Delhi and NCR are expected to increase gradually. We expect Delhi maximum will reach around 40 degrees between April 15 and 20.

At present, the pollution over Delhi and NCR is in satisfactory to good category. Overall AQI today is 88. Although last week Delhi has witnessed good Air Quality Index. The air quality of Delhi and NCR has deteriorated to some extent due to an increase in moisture content and low wind speed.

The Western disturbance is moving away eastward and a fresh western disturbance will approach Western Himalayas tomorrow. But we do not expect much impact over Delhi and NCR. However, clouding may increase but the chances of rains are very less. Wind speed will increase. Due to moderate to strong winds, we expect air quality of Delhi and NCR will improve and will once again become good.
