Holi 2018: Weather across major cities of India

Every year, the day after the full moon in March, the festival of Holi is celebrated. Also known as the festival of colors, Holi commemorates the victory of good over evil. It also marks the end of winter season.

However, 2018 saw festival of Holi arising early this year. In 2016, Holi was celebrated on March 24 and on March 13 in 2017. However, Holi will be celebrated on March 2, this year.

Being in the first week of March a little wintery touch will be felt during this colorful festival. Some showers will be seen in the northern parts but weather will remain dry and warm over Central and South India.

Let us have a look at the weather conditions on the occasion of Holi in major cities of the country:

Delhi

Dry weather conditions will prevail in the capital city of Delhi. Clear sky with slightly warm afternoon along with pleasant evening and morning is likely over Delhi-NCR. Maximum temperatures would lie between 31°C and 32°C. The day is expected to be little windy.

Mumbai

As the city of Mumbai has been experiencing very high temperatures lately, we can say that the festival of Holi for Mumbaikars will be warm and dry affair. On February 27, it recorded the highest day temperature at 37.8°C. So, likewise, the temperature will be seen in the high 30’s and a little relief will be seen during the afternoon hours due to the sea breeze. Sky conditions will be clear.

Chennai

The temperature over Chennai is expected to be warm and humid with clear sky. Maximum temperatures will range between 32°C and 33°C.

Kolkata

Kolkata is expected to witness a warm afternoon with clear sky on the festival of Holi. The range of maximum temperatures will lie between 31°C and 32°C and minimums will be ranging from 17°C to 18°C.

Bengaluru

On Holi, the weather over Bengaluru is expected to be pleasant during the morning and evening hours. However, the afternoon will be warm with clear sky and light breeze. Maximum temperatures will be the range of 32°C to 33°C.

Hyderabad

For the residents of Hyderabad the weather of Holi is going to be very warm as the maximum temperatures are expected to lie between 35°C and 36°C. The sky conditions will be clear and the morning hours will be a little better.
