As had been forecast earlier by Skymet, the new Western Disturbance has already given scattered light to moderate rain and thundershower activity over parts of Jammu and Kashmir since yesterday evening. Now, we expect the intensity and spread of this rainfall to increase over Jammu and Kashmir while covering Himachal Pradesh. Higher reaches of these states might also receive snowfall. Although, the weather activities over the state of Uttarakhand will be lesser but scattered light rains cannot be ruled out there as well. Not to mention, the effect of these rainfall activities is set to be felt over Northern districts of Punjab and Haryana.
On April 24 and 25, we expect many parts of the hilly states to receive rain and thundershower activities. These rain and thundershower activities will be in ‘light to moderate’ category. ‘Heavy to very heavy’ rains are being ruled out as of now. Although, a few intense spells may occur over parts of Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir.
This however will not cause any hazard to day to day life to the residents. Tourists can head towards these states during this period. A little precaution against landslides and mudslides should must be taken.
Temperatures are set to decrease by 3 to 4 degrees during this period. The weather will remain pleasant over most parts of the states until April 26.
