Hills of North India to witness good weather

weather in North IndiaWeather conditions in the hills of North India have improved significantly during last 24 hours. Torrential rains over Jammu and Kashmir have taken a back seat but light to moderate showers continued over the state. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand also witnessed significant decrease in rainfall activity.

Local authorities in Kashmir have also ruled out flood threat in Kashmir where Jhelum River had crossed the danger mark. The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway that was also closed due to incessant rains and landslides has been opened to traffic .

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir has moved away. While another system, the low pressure area over Punjab and adjoining hills of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir has also diffused.

Weather models at Skymet suggest light to moderate rains over the hilly states during next 24 hours. Thereafter, rains are going to reduce further and least weather activity will be witnessed.
