Snow in Kashmir

Since the last many days, feeble Western Disturbances are moving across the higher latitudes that is northern parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Hence, mainly dry weather conditions are prevailing over most parts of the Western Himalayas i.e. over the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

In fact, the sky conditions are also partly cloudy to cloudy and due to these clouds, day temperatures are not rising. Meanwhile, the night temperatures are slightly warmer.

Now during the next few days also, similar weather conditions are expected to prevail but the higher reaches of the Western Himalayas especially Jammu and Kashmir will experience short spell of light rain and snow over isolated places.

Moreover, as during the coming days, no active weather system is seen approaching the hills of North India, we do not expect much change from the ongoing weather conditions.

The early morning hours will continue to remain very cold and day will be cool. However, Himachal Pradesh valley will observe pleasant weather conditions. Places like Kullu, Manali, Bilaspur, Una, Dehradun and Rishikesh will experience pleasant weather during the daytime along with partial sunshine.

Thus, we can say that, the coming festival of Christmas will be a good time to visit the popular hill stations such as Shimla and Keylong that will be observe cool days with partly cloudy sky, but no chances for snowfall.
