Monsoon rains have once again made a comeback over the coastal areas of Maharashtra. While those droplets of rains weren’t as heavy a few days ago, rain gods decided to give Mumbaikars and residents of Thane and Kalyan some rainy surprise during the long weekend.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Thane recorded a whopping 143 mm of rain, heavy rainfall was also witnessed in Kalyan. Not only this, Mumbai also witnessed good rains to the tune of 37 mm.

These rainfall activities have been attributed to the weather conditions prevailing across the region. While a cyclonic circulation persists over the Gujarat region, the off-shore trough along the West Coast has also been giving good rains over the region.

Heavy rains in Mumbai as well as Thane has resulted in waterlogging in many areas of the cities. In fact, areas including the Andheri Subway as well and adjoining areas have been waterlogged. Mumbai local has also been the sufferer in many areas as waterlogging has also taken place in railway tracks!
