Heavy, widespread rain in parts of East India

Fairly widespread rain has been recorded over several places of East India, with intensity varying from light to moderate. According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, a cyclonic circulation prevailing over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining northeastern region is causing rain over both the regions. Moreover, during this period, the region is frequented by Nor’Westers, which are strong winds accompanied by rain and thundershowers. 

As per the latest forecast by Skymet, scattered light rain along with thundershowers accompanied with squally winds will continue over Jharkhand, West Bengal and Bihar. Light to moderate and widespread rain is expected to remain active over the region for next 24 -48 hours. In the wake of the system, both the maximum and minimum temperatures have registered a drop.
