The state of Maharashtra has witnessed good rainfall activity in the last 24 hours. All thanks to multiple weather systems persisting in proximity of the state which have caused such weather activities over Maharashtra.
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Mahabaleshwar recorded a whopping 60 mm of rainfall, Mumbai witnessed 12 mm rains, Alibag recorded 19 mm of rainfall, Aurangabad 9.4 mm, Akola saw 2.4 mm of rains, Harnai 14 mm, and Nashik 6.6 mm.
Now, as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, due to off shore trough from South Gujarat to Karnataka Coast, moderate to heavy rains will be seen over Konkan and Goa with light to moderate rains expected over Madhya Maharashtra. Temperatures will also fall slightly over all these areas.
Vidarbha and Marathwada will also see rains due to low pressure over Northwest Bay of Bengal as this system will move west northwestwards. In fact, rain intensity will increase over Vidarbha, and Marathwada during the next 36 to 48 hours.
Cities of Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Yavatmal, Nanded, Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia, Wardha may see moderate to heavy rains. Akola, Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Latur may see light to moderate rains. Mumbai will also see rainfall of moderate intensity during this time.
