Heavy rains have become a common affair over the coastal parts of Karnataka since Southwest Monsoon made an arrival over the region. In fact, three-digit rains have also occurred over some parts since Monsoon made an onset. Talking about the interior parts of Karnataka, the city of Bengaluru as well as adjoining areas have also received a few good spells of rains.

As far as the last 24 hours are concerned, the coastal region was once again lashed with heavy rainfall activity. Meanwhile, light to moderate rains were seen over the interior parts of the state as well.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Honnavar recorded 66.3 mm of rains, Karwar 63.8 mm, Mangaluru 9 mm, Bengaluru 12 mm, Chitradurga 3 mm.
These rainfall activities have been attributed to the presence of active off shore trough along the West Coast, extending from Coastal Maharashtra to the Kerala Coast. Along with this, moisture incursion from the Arabian Sea has been taking place over the interior parts of Karnataka as well.
Now, as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, moderate to heavy rains will continue to lash the Coastal Karnataka region in the coming days. Meanwhile, light rains with isolated moderate showers will also continue over Bengaluru, keeping the weather pleasant.
