The state of Chhattisgarh along with Madhya Pradesh have recorded a few good spells of rainfall. So much so many parts of the state recorded heavy spells of rainfall resulting in pleasant weather conditions over the state. The capital city of Chhattisgarh, Raipur was also lashed by a few heavy spells of rain in the past 24 hours.
In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Raipur witnessed a whopping 42.2 mm of rainfall followed by Bilaspur at 41.3 mm. Other areas to have received good showers include Ambikapur 38.3 mm, Jagdalpur 18 mm, Pendra 7 mm, as well as Rajnandgaon 1.2 mm.

These rainfall activities can be attributed to the presence of a cyclonic circulation which is currently over Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas. This very system was previously prevailing over the state of Jharkhand and adjoining areas and shifted westwards.

Due to this system, moderate to heavy showers are expected to continue over many parts of Chhattisgarh in the next 24 to 48 hours. Cities of Raipur, Ambikapur, and Bilaspur are expected to witness good showers in the coming days. With this, both maximum and minimum temperatures will witness a drop and will remain in the comfortable range.
