Heavy rains will continue in Rajasthan and Gujarat for 24 hours, relief for Madhya Pradesh

This Monsoon has been very kind over Central India. The low pressure and depression that formed in the Bay of Bengal moved in the west direction and continued to give good rains over most of the states of Central India. For the last two days, heavy rains are continuing in South Rajasthan including most of Madhya Pradesh.

During the last 24 hours, heavy rains were observed in Bhopal, Pachmarhi, Narsinghpur, Hoshangabad, Sagar, Damoh, Jabalpur, Guna, Gwalior, Betul, Ratlam, and Ujjain districts of Madhya Pradesh. In Rajasthan also, heavy rain activities were recorded in Bundi, Udaipur, Jawai Dam, Deesa and Kota districts. Gujarat's Surat, Kandla, Veraval, Porbandar, and Valsad districts received good rains.

The depression has now reached over Northwest Madhya Pradesh, it will now move towards Rajasthan and will get weakened into a deep low pressure. Under its influence, heavy rains are likely to continue in West and Southwest Madhya Pradesh till this evening. From August 17, the rain activities in Madhya Pradesh will decrease significantly.

During the next 24 to 48 hours, heavy rains are likely to continue in many districts of Gujarat including South and Southwest Rajasthan. Most parts of Rajasthan will become almost dry from August 19 while rain activities will continue over some parts of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

A new low-pressure area is about to develop over the Bay of Bengal, which will move in a west-northwest direction and may give rain activities over the eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh from August 18. These rain activities will reach most parts of Madhya Pradesh by August 20.
