Heavy Monsoon rains are all set to drench parts of Madhya Pradesh once again. Though rains of varying intensity have been going on over the state but fairly widespread heavy rains were not seen in last 48 hours.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Betul recorded 82 mm, Narsighpur 38 mm, Guna 36 mm, Sagar 32 mm, Bhopal 31 mm, Hoshangabad 31 mm, and Jabalpur 24 mm.

However, with the formation of low pressure area over Kutch region of Gujarat, weather conditions have once again become conducive for some good showers over the state during the next 24-48 hours.

Besides this, axis of Monsoon trough is also running from Gujarat to East-Central Bay of Bengal across Madhya Pradesh, which would further enhance the rains.
However, intensity of rains will be more over western region.
According to weathermen, moderate to heavy rains are likely over Ujjain, Bhopal, Ratlam, Indore and Dhar during the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, rest of areas such as Rewa, Satna and Hoshangabad would see light to moderate rains. Few places could also record very heavy spells as well.
With this, flood threat is looming large over the state. Already few areas have been battling water logging problems that had occurred last week.
