Heavy rains to lash Bhuj, Dwarka, Jamnagar, Veraval, Porbandar, Vadodara, Rajkot

The state of Gujarat has been witnessing good rains for the past couple of days. These rains have occurred over many parts with the last 24 hours also seeing some heavy showers over a few areas of the state.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Naliya recorded 41 mm of rainfall, Dwarka 24 mm, Valsad 22 mm, Surat 5 mm, Kandla 6 mm, Rajkot 6 mm, and Porbandar 2 mm.

These rains have occurred in association with a multiple weather systems, which includes a Cyclonic Circulation over South Gujarat, an off shore Trough extending from southern parts of Gujarat to Kerala. Also, a Trough is extending from the Low Pressure Area over Odisha to East Rajasthan.

These systems have been feeding moisture over Gujarat which will result in more rainfall activity over the state of Gujarat. In fact, light to moderate rainfall activity is expected to continue over many parts of the state of Gujarat.

Meanwhile, cities including Bhuj, Dwarka, Jamnagar, Veraval, Porbandar, Vadodara, Rajkot, Amreli and Junagad may see some heavy showers. The city of Ahmedabad is also expected to see some rainfall activity during the next 24 hours time.

The state of Gujarat so far has seen surplus rains only and with more rainfall activity likely, rains will only remain on the positive side.
