The Andaman and Nicobar Islands have seen some heavy rains due to the system that had formed in the Bay of Bengal. In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Long Islands recorded 144 mm of rains, Hut Bay saw 50 mm and Car Nicobar 41 mm and Port Blair recorded 31 mm of rainfall.
These rains are to continue for another two days rains. System has become a depression and is moving away from the islands. The trail of the system always remains active and extends beyond 500 km.
Thus, heavy to heavy rains are likely to continue for the next two days. Rainfall activity may see a reduction after the system moves farther away and crosses Tamil Nadu.
