Heavy rains to continue in Mount Abu, Udaipur, Kota, Chittorgarh

During the last 24 hours, fairly widespread rains and thundershower activities occurred over southern and eastern districts of Rajasthan. Places such as Kota, Boondi, and Jaipur also received moderate showers. While Chittorgarh received a whopping 124 mm of rains, Mount Abu recorded 118 mm, Bhilwara 117 mm, Udaipur 80 mm, and Bundi received 64 mm of rains.

Now, we expect these rain activities to continue in the wake of a Well Marked Low-Pressure Area which is over eastern parts of Rajasthan and adjoining Northwest parts of Madhya Pradesh. This system has traveled all the way in westwards direction towards the eastern end of India.

Intensity will be moderate to heavy over Southeast and Southern parts of Rajasthan such as that of Mount Abu, Udaipur, Kota and Chittorgarh. Tomorrow we expect the western parts of Rajasthan to also receive good rains. In fact, western parts might start receiving rains from tonight or today evening onward.

From August 18 onward weather will become dry over entire Rajasthan and there will be a relief from ongoing heavy rains over the state.
Already some parts of eastern Rajasthan have experienced waterlogging and flash floods this August.
