The West Coast has been active for a while now and moderate to heavy rains are being witnessed in turns for Kerala, Coastal Karnataka and Konkan region. Heavy rains began over Kerala and thereafter also covered Coastal Karnataka and very soon will be seen over Konkan and Goa as well.
Three digit rains have been recorded over Kerala and Karnataka in the last 24 hours. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Alappuzha recorded 67.8 mm, Kannur 142 mm, Kochi 123 mm, Kottayam 111 mm, Kozhikode 149 mm, Vellanikera 113.9 mm, Karwar 177.6 mm, and Mangaluru 115.6 mm.
Today, rains may be seen along the West Coast including the state of Kerala, however, heavy rains will be more concentrated over Coastal Karnataka. Moreover, starting tomorrow, Konkan and Goa will be seeing heavy to very heavy rainfall activity. In fact, we can see some heavy showers will be seen over Coastal Karnataka as well.
