The monsoon usually sets in over South Gujarat by June 15th. This year we expect the onset of monsoon over Gujarat. Until then, on and off pre-monsoon activities will continue and temperatures of the state will remain marginally below normal.
A low pressure area has developed over the East Central Bay of Bengal, which will travel in West-Northwest direction. Due to this, rain activities are expected to increase over the Gujarat region between June 13 and 15.
With the timely onset of monsoon, the first half of June is expected to be very good in terms of rainfall for Gujarat. Surplus rains in the month of June will certainly help the farmers and agriculture.
