Heavy rains over Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra

The states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra have seen some good rains in the last 24 hours. In fact, during the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Mana recorded 76 mm of rains, Pendra Road 41 mm, Umaria 39 mm, Buldana 44 mm, Pachmarhi 38 mm, Ratlam 31 mm, Ujjain 28 mm, Satna 33 mm, Jabalpur 28 mm, Khajuraho 27 mm, Tikamgarh 21 mm, Ambikapur 18 mm, Indore 18 mm, and Betul 15 mm.

Heavy rains are likely over Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra today. This is due to the Cyclonic Circulation which persists over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Chhattisgarh. The shear zone is also running along Maharashtra. The circulation will persist for the next 24 hours and then shift eastwards.

We can expect these heavy rains to continue for the next 24 hours over these states. Thereafter, rains will be more concentrated over parts of West and North Madhya Pradesh Bhopal, Indore, Khandwa, Gwalior, Guna, Ashoknagar more than Jabalpur, Sagar, Satna etc.

Tomorrow, heavy rains will shift from Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh to Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh continuing for another 3-4 days. Nevertheless, rains of lesser intensity will continue over these areas as well.
