Coastal Andhra Pradesh is heading for heavy to very heavy rains, commencing anytime soon. Rains will be accompanied with other weather hazards like lightening, thunderstorm and squally conditions.  Complete coastline will run the risk of inclement weather conditions, beginning tomorrow and lasting for 48hr.

Cyclonic circulation has formed over central Bay of Bengal(BoB).  Under its influence, low pressure area is likely to form over the region, little closer to the coast, in the West Central BoB in the next 24hr.  Weather system may become well marked and breach the coastline of Andhra Pradesh on 09thSeptember. The low pressure will move further westward across Vidarbha, Telangana and neighboring parts of Maharashtra.

Coastline of Andhra Pradesh from Bapatla to Srikakulam will be vulnerable to fury of weather. Non-stop copious rains accompanied with high velocity winds is a deadly combination for causing damage to the life and infrastructure.  Along with  coastline, rains will bash the interiors of the state as well. Bapatla, Machilipatnam, Kakinada, Yanam, Visakhapatnam, Kalingapatnam, Vizianagram, Srikakulam, Prakasam, Guntur, Krishna, East & West Godavari will bear the risk of incessant heavy rains between 08th and 10th Sep, with  peak intensity on 09th Sep 2022. Most parts of Rayalaseema, covering Chittor, Anantapur, Kurnool and Cuddapah may escape extreme fury of the weather system.

Rains will be heavy enough to result localized flooding and inundation of low lying areas. Communication and connectivity will be at risk of prolonged disruption. Normal life may get paralyzed, more so for the coastal belt. The peripheral regions of Telangana and Vidarbha need to be watchful for spillover of inclement weather conditions. Though, the worst for the region will get over by 11th Sep, light to moderate rains will continue at many places.
