The eastern state of Odisha is running deficient by a total of 10% as of this season. However, light to moderate rains have occurred at scattered places over the state of Odisha during the last 24 hours. Generally, the weather was running warm and humid along with cloudy sky conditions. Now, however, this is set to change as heavy rains are ahead for the state.
Due to the presence of a Cyclonic Circulation over North Bay of Bengal, moderate to heavy rains are likely at many places over entire state of Odisha. These weather conditions are likely to continue during the next 24 hours as the above system would be moving westwards. The system will soon take the form of a Low Pressure Area.
This rains would bring along a significant fall in temperatures over the entire state. Places like that of Titilagarh, Nabarangpur, Phulbani, Jharsuguda, Keonjhargarh, Sundargarh, Angul, etc are likely to receive heavy showers on August 12.
All these rains are very useful for the present cropping systems such as that of paddy crops, coconut, and Supari.
Due to the occurrence of these rains, the ongoing rainfall deficiency conditions are likely to improve over the state.
