The state of Gujarat have seen some heavy rains in the past 24 hours particularly over Saurashtra and South Gujarat. In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Amreli saw 129 mm rains, Surat 85 mm, Rajkot 82 mm, Veraval 78 mm, Mahuva 56 mm, and Porbandar 33 mm.

These showers have been widespread in association with the low pressure area whose outer peripherals are reaching up till Gujarat. The low pressure will move towards Uttar Pradesh regions, which will result in reduction of rains.

However, light showers will continue as a Cyclonic Circulation will come up over Northeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Pakistan region. Thus now rains will continue to be light and intense showers will take a backseat.

Rains may make a comeback around September 22, as a system will form in the Bay around 17th and will take some time to move inland. However, the system needs to be watched out for now.
