As reiterated by Skymet Weather, heavy rain and thundershowers have lashed Mumbai since Saturday morning. In span of mere three hours from 8:30 am to 11:30 am, the city has recorded 37 mm of rain.
Moreover, more rains are expected to mar the city during the day. At present, rain activity has stopped but sky remains cloudy and overcast.
Moderate south-westerlies winds have been blowing over the city, which are likely to pick up pace by the late afternoon, gusting from 40 kmph up to 60 kmph.
As predicted, more spells of rain are expected over the city on Saturday. These on and off rains are likely to continue over the Mumbai for next 24 hours as well.
The cyclonic circulation prevailing in Arabian Sea off the Karnataka and Goa coast will continue giving some on and off weather activity over the city.
Monsoon 2016 is likely to reach Mumbai in span of next few days. At present, Monsoon has already covered parts of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh and has been advancing further at a rapid pace.
