Heavy rains lash Bhubaneswar, more showers aheadBhubaneswar rains have been keeping the weather conditions pleasant for the past few days. In fact, the city has been receiving rains in double digit for the past three days now. These rains have kept both the maximums and the minimum temperatures under check.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Bhubaneswar recorded a whopping 58 mm of rain. In just the first three days of June, the city has recorded 96 mm of rainfall. The monthly average rains for Bhubaneswar during the month of June stands at 204.8 mm.

A cyclonic circulation which is over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Telangana and Odisha. A trough is also extending from this system up to Northeast India. Due to these systems, moist winds from the Bay of Bengal have increase moisture incursion over the area.

Thus, rains have increased over Odisha as well. So much so that the temperatures have also witnessed a sharp dip. Currently, the maximum in Bhubaneswar is settling at 34.1 degrees, which happens to be 4 degrees below the normal levels.

Now, during the next 24 hours, more rains are expected over Bhubaneswar. These rains will continue to keep under check and pleasant conditions will prevail over the capital city of Odisha.
