Heavy rains in UP to continue; Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Bareilly, Moradabad on high alert

As predicted by Skymet Weather, heavy Monsoon rains have been lashing many parts of Uttar Pradesh. In fact, there would be no let up from these rains and moderate to heavy weather activities will continue for next 48 hours.

Intensity of rains will be more over the foothills and eastern parts of the state. In wake of this, high alert has been issued in 10 districts of Gonda, Rae Bareli, Lucknow, Hardoi, Barabanki, Pratapgarh, Faizabad, Moradabad, Bareilly and Budayun.

These rains can be attributed to the trough running from North Punjab to East India across Uttar Pradesh. In addition to this, a cyclonic circulation is also seen over East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Both the systems will keep the weather conditions conducive for rain and thunders to continue.

Weathermen are predicting rain and thundershowers over Bareilly, Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Moradabad, Pilibhit, Rampur, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, Bhabua, Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli, Allahabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Amethi, Azamgarh, Ballia, Balrampur, Banda, Bara Banki, Basti, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, Deoria, Faizabad, Fatehpur, Ghazipur, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, Kaushambi, Lucknow, Mau, Mirzapur, Pratapgarh, Rae Bareli, Sant Kabir Nagar, Sant Ravi Das Nagar, Siddharth Nagar, Sonbhadra, Sultanpur, Unnao and Varanasi districts of Uttar Pradesh till Sunday.

Thereafter, rains will start reducing gradually.
