The Sri Lankan nation has been witnessing good Pre-Monsoon rainfall activity for the past many days. So much so that the Pre-Monsoon activity has been a good affair for Sri Lanka this year.

The last 24 hours also, the Sri Lankan nation saw some good spells of rainfall. Moreover, isolated pockets also saw three-digit rainfall as well.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Galle recorded heavy rains to the tune of 166.1 mm, followed by Colombo wherein 58.2 mm of rains were recorded. Other parts of the country to have recorded good rains include Kurunegala at 30.4 mm, Nuwara 10.0 mm, Anuradhapura 4.3 mm, Katunayake 4.4 mm, Puttalam 3.2 mm, Vavuniya 3.4 mm.
Currently a cyclonic circulation lies over extreme southwest parts of Bay of Bengal and adjoining equatorial region off Sri Lanka Coast. Now, as per weathermen, this system is likely to move away west northwestwards and weaken.
Due to the presence of this system, moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers will continue at many places over Sri Lanka for the next 24-36 hours. Thereafter, rainfall intensity will decrease as the system will be weakening.
The sky conditions will remain cloudy to overcast. The humidity level is also likely to increase.
