The pre-Monsoon period gave some rains over Central India, including Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Southwest Monsoon has covered almost most parts of Southern and Central India and is progressing towards the remaining regions. Chhattisgarh has been covered entirely by the Monsoon wave but Monsoon has only reached a few parts of Madhya Pradesh.
As per Skymet Weather, in the last 24 hours, Monsoon remained vigorous over Chhattisgarh and splashed the capital city of Raipur with heavy showers of 50.4 mm. Moderate to active rains are likely to continue to the state. Hence mercury levels are also expected to fall which would give relief to the residents.

Though as on June 24 Chhattisgarh is deficit by 22% rainfall. But due to the current rainfall activities, the deficit rainfall will get covered up.
Coming to Madhya Pradesh, only a few parts have been covered by Monsoon. West Madhya Pradesh has received 31% rainfall while East Madhya Pradesh is 40 percent rain deficient. In the last 24 hours, from 8.30 Am on Saturday Khandwa received 65 mm rainfall, Betul 55.7 mm, Pachmarhi 22 mm, Seoni 17.2 mm, Rewa 16 mm, Indore 8.2 mm and Gwalior 5.3 mm.
These weather activities can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which is persisting over the Bay Bengal and adjoining areas. rains are likely to continue for the next 48 hours over both the states.
