Maharashtra rains have made a good comeback wherein during last 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains have occurred over Vidarbha wherein Nagpur received 78 mm of rainfall, Wardha saw 13 mm, Yavatmal 9 mm, Amravati 5 mm. Parbhani in Marathwada also recorded 11 mm of rainfall while some parts of Madhya Maharashtra saw good rains withKolhapur18 mm, Satara 13 mm.Punesaw light rains of 5 mm, and Nashik witnessed 6 mm of rains.
Intense rains continued over Konkan and Goa with Dahanu witnessing 51 mm, Thane 19 mm, Santa Cruz 19 mm, Alibag witnessed three digit rains of 114 mm.
Now, as the Low Pressure Area is over Odisha and adjoining areas, rains will further increase over Vidarbha with heavy to very heavy rains during next 24 to 48 hours. Cities of Nagpur, Yavatmal, Nanded, Akola, Amravati will see heavy rainfall. Rains in Pune is also expected to be seen today, however, showers will not be heavy.
Rains in Marathwada will also increase wherein light to moderate rains with isolated intense spells will be seen. Thereafter, on September 8, parts of North Madhya Maharashtra may also see some rains including Jalgaon.
However, rainfall activities over the Konkan and Goa region will witness a reduction after 24 hours. For the next 24 hours, rains may be moderate to heavy over the region. Mumbai rains will also see an increase today.
Cities of Alibag, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Mahabaleshwar will continue to lash the city after 24 hours as well.
