Since last many days, several parts of Chhattisgarh and southern districts of Madhya Pradesh have been witnessing good rainfall activities. Whereas remaining parts of these two states have been recording light showers with a few moderate spells. Likewise, the last 24 hours were no different and thus, Madhya Pradesh, as well as Chhattisgarh, observed active to vigorous Monsoon conditions.

So, In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Raipur recorded heavy rainfall of 68 mm, Khandwa 53 mm, Bhopal 45.3 mm, Durg 35.4 mm, Betul 25.2 mm, Ambikapur 22 mm, Sagar 20 mm, Rewa 16.2 mm, Rajnandgaon 12 mm, Bilaspur 9 mm, Jabalpur 6.4 mm, Pendra 4 mm, Jagdalpur 3 mm and Umaria 1.2 mm.

These weather conditions can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is seen over Jharkhand and adjoining areas. Therefore, several parts of Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh will receive light to moderate rains with isolated heavy during the next 24 hours.

Further, this cyclonic circulation is expected to move gradually towards Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Due to this movement, around September 21 and 22, many parts of West Madhya Pradesh will observe heavy to very heavy rains.
