Most parts of Uttar Pradesh remained dry during the past 24 hours. However, isolated light rain was observed over the region. In fact, dry and warm weather was dominant over the entire state since last few days.

The reason for such weather conditions can be attributed to the successive weather systems that were prevailing over central or eastern parts of the country. These systems constrained the moisture feed over the northwest plains of India.
Now, the low pressure area which was over the state of Odisha and adjoining Chhattisgarh is likely to move toward North Madhya Pradesh and adjoining South Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours.
As a result, light to moderate rains are possible over many places, with heavy spells over few parts of Uttar Pradesh, particularly the western and central parts of the state.
Cities such as Agra, Mathura, Bareilly, Lucknow, Kanpur, Meerut and Muzaffarnagar will witness good rains. Whereas light rain is also expected to occur over eastern parts of the state such as Gorakhpur, Allahabad, Varanasi and Sultanpur.
