Monsoon remains active over the foothills of Himalayas, including Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. This could be due to the Western Disturbance moving across the foothills of the Himalayas. Moreover, easterly winds are also blowing across the region.
Here’s a look at the rainfall figures over the region during last 24 hours:
On Sunday, Cooch Behar in West Bengal received a whopping 114.6 mm of rain.
As per Skymet Weather, the continuous flow of easterly winds along the foothills of Himalayas tends to increase the moisture. Thus, we can expect dense clouds to bring some more rains over the region during next 24 hours.
The rain intensity is likely to further increase, leading to moderate to heavy showers over some parts of the foothills of Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh.
As of now, it is expected that few areas of North Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh will receive heavy to very heavy rains during next 24 to 48 hours.
