Cyclone Mora had given heavy to extremely rains to Bangladesh. However, the system has now become insignificant but heavy rains continue to lash the flood struck Bangladesh. Cyclone Mora brought high winds and torrential rain, which killed seven people and destroyed thousands of homes when it hit on Tuesday.

The speed of the winds at the time of landfall was between 90 kmph and 120 kmph when cyclone Mora had made landfall.

The areas around Cox's Bazar and Chittagong, along the border with Myanmar had suffered by the storm. Many districts of Bangladesh such as Khepupara, Chittagong, and Cox Bazar received heavy to very heavy rains.

During the last 24 hours, southern districts have received heavy rainfall. Jessore received 13 mm, Satkhira 55 mm, Madaripur 71 mm, Sandwip 94 mm, Maijdee Court 102 mm and Rangamati 94 mm.

After such intensified weather activities, rainfall is likely to reduce significantly over Bangladesh. As per Skymet, the wind pattern will change and South West humid winds which are currently over Bangladesh will get cut off due to the formation of a trough over East India. It is expected that after 24 hours Bangladesh will get some relief from the ongoing heavy rain activities.
