The Southern Peninsula has been receiving rains of varied intensity for the past few days. In the last 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains were recorded over many parts. Hyderabad recorded 67 mm of rain, Kurnool 70 mm, Machilipatnam 60 mm, Hanamkonda 52 mm, Khammam 43 mm, Bapatla 45 mm, Gulbarga 38 mm, Bengaluru 26 mm, Kodaikanal 25 mm etc.
Today, we can expect heavy rainfall activity with a few very heavy spells as well including parts of South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and Interior Tamil Nadu. Tomorrow, rains may reduce a little and these showers are expected to continue. Other parts of South India may see some varied intensity of showers as well.
A feeble Circulation is marked over South Interior Karnataka and the Peninsular trough also persists extending from the central parts. This system will result in rain continue for three to four days.
