These weather conditions are attributed to the presence of the off-shore trough which is running along the West Coast from Gujarat Coast up to Kerala region. Due to this very trough, moisture incursion has been taking place over the region resulting in heavy rainfall over many parts.
As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, moderate to heavy showers are expected to continue over both the Coastal Karnataka as well as Goa region during the next 24 hours. The Konkan region will also record heavy rainfall.
