Heavy rains await Andaman and Nicobar as formation of Low Pressure Area possible

During the last 24 hours, southern parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands have received moderate rainfall at some places. While northern parts remained mostly dry and warm with humid conditions.

Presently, the Cyclonic Circulation is lying over Gulf of Thailand. This system is extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level. During the next 24 hours, there are bright chances that the same system would be intensifying into a Low-Pressure Area over North Andaman and Nicobar Sea.

Further, the same system would be intensifying more and is likely to move in West-northwesterly direction initially.

Due to the presence of this system, moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers along with strong winds would be affecting most parts of North Andaman and Nicobar Islands. While, southern parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands will see less rains and thundershowers as compared to the Northern islands. Sea conditions will also become rough gradually as time progresses. All these weather conditions are likely to continue during the next two to three days.
