Uttar Pradesh is one of the driest states during this monsoon season. It is deficient by 47% wherein East Uttar Pradesh is deficient by 47% and West Uttar Pradesh by 48%.
The low-pressure area is moving across Madhya Pradesh and will soon be over northern parts of Madhya Pradesh and adjoining parts of Southwest Uttar Pradesh. Western and of axis of monsoon trough will also travelling across Uttar Pradesh. Rain activities are going to increase significantly over many parts of the state.
Today, there will be light to moderate rain with few heavy spells of rain over Uttar Pradesh. Rain will intensify from September 15 and may continue until 17th. Kanpur, Fatehpur, Raebareli, Amethi, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Sultanpur, Faizabad, Gonda, Basti and Gorakhpur may receive moderate to heavy showers. Whereas remaining parts of the state may also witness good rain activities.
Kasganj, Badayun, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Hardoi, Lucknow, Barabanki, Unnao and Kanpur may witness heavy downpour on September 16 and 17. In fact, the low-pressure area will travel up to central parts of Uttar Pradesh and will persist there for 2 to 3 days. This upcoming rain spell may reduce the rain deficiency of Uttar Pradesh to some extent.
