Heavy rains ahead for Uttar Pradesh, day temperatures to drop

March 12, 2020 12:16 PM |

Uttar Pradesh rains

During the last 24 hours, many parts in the state of Uttar Pradesh have been experiencing scattered light rainfall activities with one or two moderate spells. The reason for these rains can be attributed to the presence of a Western Disturbance.

But now, this Western Disturbance is moving towards North Jammu and Kashmir. Also, the trough has weakened considerably. Therefore, we expect isolated light rains and thundershowers in Northwest Uttar Pradesh today.

Tomorrow onward, another fresh Western Disturbance is likely to approach the Western Himalayas. A trough will also extend from the plains of North India up to Bihar across Uttar Pradesh.

In the wake of the above-mentioned weather systems, we expect the intensity of rains to increase further. The rains will commence from western parts of Uttar Pradesh and it will gradually cover central and eastern parts as well.

A heavy spell of rain and thundershowers is expected over Uttar Pradesh in the next 24 hours. On March 14 also, we expect scattered patchy rains to continue at a few places. Meanwhile, the day temperatures are expected to fall by three to four degrees on March 13 and 14.

On March 15, the weather will start clearing up as the Western Disturbance will move away. Also the Trough will fade away. In the absence of any significant weather system, bright sunshine will prevail over the state. Meanwhile, isolated patches of clouds can also be observed. At the same time, the maximums will also start rising once again.
