During the last 24 hours, the state of Uttar Pradesh has received very light rains at some places while northern parts of the state along the foothills received moderate rains at isolated places during the last 24 hours.

Otherwise very warm and humid weather was continuing over the state since the last many days. As on August 10, the eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh are deficient by 9% while western of parts of Uttar Pradesh are deficient by 25% rains.

Presently, a Cyclonic Circulation lies over North Bay of Bengal which will be intensifying into a Low-Pressure Area and moving Northwestwards. Also, the axis of Monsoon Trough passes through extreme southern parts of Uttar Pradesh. Under the influence of the Cyclonic Circulation, the Axis of Monsoon Trough is likely to shift Northwards.

Due to the shifting of this Trough and approaching of the above system, the frequency of spells of rains and thundershowers will be increasing manifold over most parts of Uttar Pradesh.

The Southwest parts of Uttar Pradesh like that of Agra, Mathura, Firozabad, Etawah, etc may receive heavy showers during the next 36 hours while other parts will receive light to moderate rains and thundershowers at many places during the next two to three days.

There will be a relief from warm weather due to the occurrence of these rains and clouding. The rains will turn out useful for the present crops like that of paddy, sugarcane, Jowar, Bajara, maize etc. Also, these rains will mean an improvement in rain deficiency figures.
