Monsoon is about to complete 2 months and so far Rajasthan has received very good rains. If we talk about western Rajasthan, then western Rajasthan has got 66% more rain than normal and eastern Rajasthan has got 36% more rain than normal.
During the last 24 hours, moderate to heavy rain activities were observed over Barmer, Ajmer and Churu. Kota and its adjoining areas also recorded moderate to heavy showers. Many areas of Jaipur, Barmer and Jaisalmer were flooded due to torrential rains. The Monsoon trough is now passing over Rajasthan and under its influence, heavy rains are likely to continue in many districts during the next 2 to 3 days. The intensity of rain will be more over Southwest, South and East Rajasthan. The rain activities will be relatively less over Northwest and West Rajasthan.
A Low-Pressure Area may form over Southwest Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan and Kutch. Due to its influence rain activities may intensify over South Rajasthan. The monsoon line will move towards North India from July 28 and the weather will become almost dry in the western districts of Rajasthan. But light to moderate rain may continue over East Rajasthan. By the end of July, the rainfall ratio of Rajasthan may increase further.
