Heavy rains are likely to lash many parts of South Rajasthan today. Even, the tri-junction area of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh is expected to have heavy rains at many places. The situation will ease out in the subsequent 24 hours. Light rain at most places and moderate spells at a few locations are likely tomorrow and the day after.
Heavy rains will pull out from most parts of Madhya Pradesh, including the capital city Bhopal, today itself. However, in view of the deluge over the last 48hr, the water bodies will keep responding for the next 48hr, despite cessation of intense rains. Opening of gates and overflowing water from the dams and reservoirs will exceed the capacity utilization of water channels and therefore, the normalization may take another 2-3 days.
Depression over Madhya Pradesh has moved northwestward and weakened. It is marked as a well marked low pressure area over Southeast Rajasthan covering Kota, Jhalawar, Chittorgarh and Pratapgarh area. It is expected to move further westward and cross over to Pakistan in the next 24hr.
Remnant effect of the system will have moderate rain and thundershower over extreme West Rajasthan tomorrow, covering Barmer, Jaisalmer, Phalodi, Jodhpur and Bikaner. Weather conditions will improve subsequently and very light weather activity is expected at some places.
Heavy rains are likely over Rajasthan today covering the southern districts. Sirohi, Jalore, Udaipur, Barmer, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, and Dungarpur are at risk of having heavy spells of thundershowers. Extreme southwestern parts of Madhya Pradesh will also be lashed by moderate showers today. Alirajpur, Dhar, Barwani, Jhabua, Ratlam, Neemuch and Mandsaur can expect few heavy spells.
Northern parts of Kutch in Gujarat also face threat of few heavy spells today. Overall situation will improve tomorrow and better further subsequently.
