The rains have once again resumed over the state of Bihar. In the past 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday, moderate to heavy rainfall activities were witnessed over East Uttar Pradesh. For instance, Bahraich recorded very heavy rain of 185 mm while other places in the region witnessed moderate intensity rain during this period.

If we talk about the regions separately, Fursatganj recorded 25 mm of rain, Lucknow received 15 mm, Gorakhpur 10 mm and Varanasi witnessed 18 mm of rainfall.

During the next 24 to 48 hours, we expect some on and off rain to commence over the eastern and central districts of the State. On September 21 and September 22, we expect light scattered rainfall activities to commence over West Uttar Pradesh also.

Post 48 hours, the overall rainfall activities would go down. And during this period, the region of East Uttar Pradesh would witness scattered light rain with one or two moderate spells.

Between September 26 and September 28, another good spell of rain would commence over East Uttar Pradesh. The reason for these significant rainfall activities would be the formation of a Cyclonic Circulation persisting over East Uttar Pradesh.

Thus, we can say that relief from the sultry weather is in sight by September 28.
